Brimstone Fiction is a traditional royalty-paying publisher in print and e-formats. All submissions must be the original work of the author in the genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, YA speculative, or Niche Markets. We are also looking for Romantic Suspense with Paranormal elements, Action/Adventure, Contemporary Women’s, Historical/Medieval Fiction, and Time Travel. Parameters:
-Original fiction between 60,000-100,000 words. Speculative readers have long attention spans, enjoy epic themes, and will buy bigger books if the story captures them.
-Stories should be edgy, unique, thought-provoking, reflective of a Christian worldview without being preachy or overbearing, and must appeal to both Christian and general markets.
-No graphic violence or sex.
-Proposal should include, in Word format, a one-page synopsis, author bio, and marketing plan, single-spaced, and the first 3 chapters, double-spaced, 12-pt Times Roman or Times New Roman font.
-Place author’s last name/book title within the filename of every attachment.
-First-time authors must have a completed manuscript to submit. We will not contract based upon proposal alone. Please do not send a proposal if your book is unfinished.
-We will consider only authors with agents or who have met us at writers conferences.
-Your submission remains under consideration until you receive notification for or against publication.
-Please allow 6-8 weeks for notification. We allow simultaneous submissions. Should an author sign a contract with another house, please let us know, and we will take the submission off our consideration list.
-We retain the right to edit contracted submissions for grammar, clarity, and brevity. We will correspond with the author via email during the editing process, and the author will be aware of all changes made to the manuscript prior to publication.
